Guide to Super URLs

Rebate Jet has a special 2 Step URL tool for your use at https://app.rebatejet.com/2step

What is a Super URL and why should I use one? The Super URL is already created by Amazon when someone searches for a particular keyword while buying products.

So instead of looking like the person landed at your listing and didn’t buy your product, super URLs make it appear to the search engine as if someone searched for your product using those keywords and then clicked on your listing. This helps you rank for keywords AND has much less of an effect on the traffic not leading to a conversion.

You should use super URLs in Giveaways, blog posts, YouTube videos, media buy campaigns, social media mentions, and all other places where you’re sending traffic to Amazon.

Rebate Jet has a special 2 Step URL tool for your use at https://app.rebatejet.com/2step

Read this help article to understand how Super URLs (also known as 2 Step URLs) work and to learn the manual way to create one for your product.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Ensure that you use keywords that are already in your listing and part of what your product would normally index for. The aim should never be to manipulate the system into doing something it’s not supposed to do, because that can get you into trouble. However, it’s completely normal to target keywords that are already associated with your product.  The reason for using Super URLs is to prevent it from looking like a bunch of traffic is coming from off of Amazon to look at your page and then leaving. It is much better for them to land at a “search page” of your product instead of the direct link to your product page.

There are many different variations of Super URLs, but for the purposes of this help article we’ll teach you how to create the most basic Super URL for your product with your main keywords included.

  1. Search for your product on Amazon. For this example we will use the search term Blue Water Bottle For Kids. Here’s the search results (at the moment). You will apply your own medium to long tail keyword search and find your product in the results, then click on it.
  2. For this example, I’ll find a random blue water bottle as our example product and click on it. You can see that the search term “Blue water Bottle for Kids” shows up in the search bar within the product page
  3. Next I’ll copy and paste the URL into a word document or text document. Notice the keywords in the URL are the same as what we typed in the search bar
  4. Finally, I’ll change out the keyword slightly to add the word Silicone to the front (maybe I’d like to rank for the word silicone water bottle for kids, instead of just blue water bottle for kids – this is obviously just an example). I’ll also remove everything after the &qid in the URL as shown below
  5. The final URL looks like this notice the &qid part is removed from the end and the keywords have been changed from blue+water+bottle+for+kids to silicone+water+bottle+for+kids.
  6. Now I’ll copy and paste it into a new window and make sure it works. If it worked, I should see the product page come up with “Silicone Water Bottle for Kids” in the search bar.  You can see the URL has also changed to reflect Silicone in the keywords area. This is how you create a super URL. Now get to work creating your own! You can also create multiple different SuperURLs for each promotion or deal posted on Rebate Jet to target more keywords.

IMPORTANT NOTES (in case you didn’t read them up above): Ensure that you use keywords that are already in your listing and part of what your product would normally index for.
